T1, Metro Ethernet, DS3

Acceleration provides a number of solutions designed for our high-bandwidth customers, including several products using T1, Metro Ethernet, and T3 delivery types. These services can be used for Internet only applications, combined voice and data, or as part of our APN products for private data applications and host circuits.

T1/DS1 Lines

T1 DS1 Lines - Central Florida, Tampa, Orlando, Jacksonville, Gainesville

T1 (or sometimes called DS1) services are perfect for businesses that don't qualify for SDSL, yet still require higher bandwidth or the greater reliability that T1's afford. T1 lines are symmetrical, where upstream and downstream are the same speed at 1.54 Mbps. Acceleration can provide T1 services anywhere within the serving area of a 'on net' CO, irrespective of how far you are located from the central office, which makes T1 much more widely available than SDSL or even ADSL services. There are several variants of T1, but all can be used to service a standard 1.54Mbps Internet connection.

- ATM T1

ATM T1 is typically used for high-speed Internet Service or as part of our APN for multi-location businesses. Traffic can be presented over this connection as private IP or as ATM PVC's. This provides an incredible amount of flexibility in configuration of a corporate private network or WAN. ATM T1 can be ordered as UBR, VBR, and CBR. Our staff can discuss these options and best match a solution to your needs.

- Packet T1

Packet T1's use HDLC (High-Level Link Control) or PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) and is the most direct and efficient way of using a T1 for Internet only connections. This is a point to point, private connection, that directly links your location with our closest Internet POP. Because there are no extra protocols, protocol switches, or other equipment involved, an HDLC connection has the very low latency, full T1 capacity, and great reliability.

- Integrated T1

Consolidate your local, long distance, and Internet service with an Integrated Voice & Data Package, available in select Embarq markets throughout Florida. Provides dedicated high-speed Internet access up to 768K, flat rate local phone service, and competitive long distance rates. With an Integrated T1, Voice & Data share the same physical T1 connection to your facility, saving the expense of having separate phones lines for voice and data. The following chart shows the various configurations available.

Frame Relay T1

Our Frame Relay service is available in several different speeds, including a full 1.54Mbps. A Frame Relay T1 is used when SDSL, ADSL, Packet and ATM T1's are not available options. Typically used as part of our APN offering, but sometimes used in rural locations that require a high-bandwidth Internet connection at a remote location. Frame Relay is available with optional CIR (Committed Information Rate). Click here for more info.

Metro Ethernet

Available in 10MB and 100MB speeds in some markets, Metro Ethernet is a fiber connection direct from your facility to our nearest Internet POP. Metro Ethernet connections can be used for high-capacity Internet needs or as a host circuit as part of our APN product. The advantage of Metro Ethernet is commonly price, since this delivery method is commonly cheaper due to the wide spread availability and adoption of Ethernet in LAN and now WAN environments.

DS3 Interconnect

An ATM DS3 is a digital private line service with the capacity to transmit high volumes of information at 44.736Mbps. A DS3 is the equivalent of 28 DS1 (T1) or 672 DS0 channels. It can be used for high-bandwidth Internet applications, like those of a large corporate office location or as the host circuit in an APN configuration with branch office locations backhauled as Private IP or ATM PVC's. There are a number of configuration options available to suit any high-capacity application.

ATM DS3 can also be used by ISP's (Internet Service Providers) that wish to purchase capacity and product reach into new markets, while retaining full IP control of the network. This offers a huge benefit to ISP's that require a wide reach, but do not want to acquire their own connections into each LATA and with every LEC (Local Exchange Carrier).
